IBM and Oracle to merge over SAP services
IBM and SAP have announced a partnership that will see the companies combine their IT services and help each other with cloud services.
According to a press release, the deal will see IBM and SUSE provide IBM and IBM cloud services through a strategic partnership.
The two companies will also work together to create and deliver SAP solutions for SAP cloud services and SAP cloud computing services.IBM has a strong presence in the cloud, but SAP has been struggling to take advantage of it in the past.
IBM has been working with Oracle to make it easier for companies to integrate cloud solutions into their existing business processes.
However, the SAP partnership with IBM and the collaboration with Oracle has the potential to bring a much-needed boost to the cloud.SAP has struggled to differentiate itself in the enterprise, and it has been facing competition from companies like Amazon, Google and Facebook.
However the SAP deal with IBM will give it the ability to deliver a consistent set of cloud services that are already available to SAP customers.
The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of this year, with an estimated $10 billion in combined revenues, the press release added.
